BIG NEWS!!!!

 Hey Girl Hey!!!  

I AM BACK!!!  After nine years of not posting here I decided IT WAS TIME!  I have SO much to update you on and where we are in our life now but I'll do that gradually.  I'm not going to bombard you with the Mabry Mayhem all at once.  

Let's start with sharing what's been going on most recently...PIG SHOWING!! Yes, we're still showing, we're now 13 years into our show pig journey and we're still loving every minute of it, well mostly at least. LOL!  Through the ups and downs, learning and growth it STILL remains the best hobby for our family. 

May 24 - 28, 2021 we traveled to Des Moines, Iowa to the Iowa State Fairgrounds to show at "The Recovery" hosted by Team Purebred and CPS (Certified Pedigreed Swine).   

The girls had a great show.  We celebrate every victory like it was our first one because they don't come easy and they don't come often.  The competition is tough but so are we and we just keep grinding and our goal is to always get our best pig and kid to the ring and then let it sort itself out.  At that point, it's out of our control.  We've done our part and if the judge agrees, awesome and if not, we keep working.  

We did have a HUGE victory this time around.  After 13 years of growth and learning we hit a huge goal in our show journey. 

 Lizzie and her crossbred gilt Chili ended as the Grand Champion Crossbred gilt! 

Lizzie had another pig that I just love that placed 2nd in her class, Cayenne the Duroc. 

We won another breed as well.  Chloe and her Poland, Pam, ended up as Champion Poland Gilt! 

Chloe also had 6th overall Intermediate showman in the showmanship contest! Proud of you, Chloe. 

Harlie had a 1st in class with her crossbred gilt, Venus. As well as Grand Champion Poland gilt (Patti) during the open show on Friday.  

Backdrop photos are so much fun.  They represent the village that it takes to make this happen and our friends who support us and our girls.  We are thankful for their love, encouragement, knowledge and mostly, the laughter. We wouldn't want to do it without them.
