T-day was a SUCCESS!

I had a great Thanksgiving. So much fun with my family and with J's family and I didn't stuff myself. This is the first time EVER that I have not been absolutely miserable after eating Thanksgiving lunch or dinner. I did eat and I did eat some things that I do not normally eat on regular occasions but I didn't eat a lot of it. AND I did have some pie, 1 piece of the best coconut cream pie ever compliments of Melinda. It was SO GOOD! Plus, I had a small piece of chocolate cake and that is it. It was just enough to satisfy me but not enough to make me feel sick. In fact...drum roll please... I LOST 1.4 pounds last week over Thanksgiving. I think I did it b/c I just had a few small treats on Thursday and that was it. I was on track for the 3 days before and on track for the 3 days after. I didn't make Thanksgiving a week long celebration. I took home no leftovers and I got back to my regular eating routine on Friday morning. Wow, that makes me feel good.

You know the statistics say that the average person gains 7-10 pounds over the holiday season. Then they never get it off so over the course of several years that is a lot of weight. Well my goal is to lose about 5 pounds and I am actually off to a great start. YEA!!!!

Next week I start the end of an exercise challenge that I am doing and the schedule has me lifting weights and doing short cardio segments 5 days a week. I am a little nervous about it but I am determined to do it. I really think it will shape my body in ways that I have never seen it before. I can't wait to see the results. I will keep you posted on how it goes and this will be my check in place so you can all make sure I am following up with my commitment.

Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Almost thanksgiving...

2 days until the big T-day! I am determined to not make it about the food. I will eat a few small portions of the food I really like the cheesey potatoes or the poppyseed chicken. I am going to fill myself up on turkey and green beans and some brocc and cauli that my MIL makes and then I will eat small spoon fulls a few higher calorie foods that I like. For dessert I plan on eating a small portion of my MIL's german chocolate cake. At my families we have the basics and nothing too spectacular so I can eat mainly turkey and veggies. I am making my own low cal pumpkin pie so I will eat that there. It is a combination of a couple of pies I found so if it is good I will post it. I just want to end Thursday knowing that I ate sensibly and I did not gorge myself. I also plan on wearing my NEW SIZE 8 JEANS so that I won't have much room to stuff myself. They fit just right but have no wiggle room. I am exercising Thursday morning too so that will help me stay on track more. I can do this. Food DOES NOT RULE ME!!!

What is your T-day plan? If you don't have one you better get one or else you will eat everything in site and feel guilty about it the next day. Only eat the foods that are WORTH IT TO YOU!!

Weekend preview

I did get up early on Friday morning and exercise. It wasn't very energized b/c I was so tired but I did get up. I exercised briefly on Saturday but not much you can do when 2 kids are climbing all over your step you are trying to step on. Then when they were taking a nap I decided to take on as well. I love weekend naps!!

I ate at the new shogun restaurant here in town on Saturday night. It was SO GOOD!! I had shrimp, veggies and a california roll. Friday night I went to a recption type thing for a couple that I work with that got married a few weeks ago out of town. I did splurge on 2 lemon bars and a brownie type thing. It was really good to eat some sweets b/c I have not had any in a while. The dinner was actually pretty healthy so I did o.k. with that.

Not much going on this week really. I can't believe Thanksgiving is in less than 2 weeks. I am looking forward to our family get togethers.

Biggest Loser!!!

I absolutely love this show. In fact, I must watch 2 shows each week and this is one of them, the other is desperate housewives. Anyway, this show makes me laugh, cry and stand up out of my chair and cheer. Since I know what a struggle it is to loose weight and exercise and make your self healthy I just so relate to this show. I love it when they have great big successes or when I see them working out so hard. I wish I could have 6 weeks with one of those trainers. Oh man, I think I could transform my body. It would be SO GREAT!! Oh well, I don't so I must do it on my own. I love it at the end when the person gets voted off and you are so anxiously awaiting to see how they did when they got home. So far this season all 9 that have been voted off have been SO SUCCESSFUL!! It is just so neat to see. Of course, they have a long road for the rest of their lives but they are off to a great start. It just brings a smile to my face to see them do so well on this long tough journey.

I am doing well this week. Great on the food front and I have actually gotten up early 2 days in a row to exercise in the AM. My goal is to get up on Thursday and Friday morning too. Stay tuned to see if I actually do it.

GO HOGS GO!!!

WOW!! What a great football game we played on Saturday against South Carolina. We have some talent on our team and it is so fun to watch. Darren McFadden and Felix Jones are just machines!! They really are amazing football players. They are so fun to watch.

We had a good weekend. We got our yard mowed and the flower bed weeded for the last time before the cold weather gets here. It feels good to get that done. We relaxed some and went to the football game of course. Did some laundry and cleaning, you know the usual weekend things.

I am still going strong with my food choices. This healthy way of eating is becoming second nature to me now almost. I still have struggles that I will always have but the food is becoming easier. As for the exercise, I love to exercise and I love how I feel afterwards but it is staying consistent and making myself do it that is a struggle for me. Like last week I just did 2 days of strenght training. The week before that I did 4 then the week before that I did 6. So this week maybe it will be 6 again. I will have to do it tonight in order to get my week started off good. I hope to get up in the morning and do my 2nd day. I know I can do it, I just have to put those two feet on the ground at 5 am in the morning and get started.

GO RAMAY INDIANS!!! WOO WOO!!!

THEY WON!!! WOOT WOOT!!! SO EXCITING. It was a GREAT game. They won 13-7. Towards the end there were a few turnovers and my heart was beating fast. I was thinking to myself if they end up losing this game 14-13 I don't know what I will do. They lost to this team the first game in the season (the first game is not conference but this last game is) by 1 point and that just makes you sick. I didn't want it to happen again BUT IT DIDN'T so everything is o.k. Boy, it was exciting. Nothing like beating your rival team from across town. The funny thing is that when I was in Jr. High I went to that rival school from across town. I always say we will root for whichever team pays our bills and for now that is the RAMAY INDIANS!! And we are proud. As they say RAMAY PRIDE RUNS DEEP!!!!!

I am getting ready to hit the sack. Game days are always long days. I probably won't have time to post tomorrow b/c I am busy at work. This weekend we are mowing the yard, cleaning the garage and watching the HOGS play against South Carolina. Let's hope and pray for a win there too. Have a great weekend!!

For the FIRST time ever in my life...

I did not eat one single piece of Halloween candy. I cannot believe that I did it. It feels so good that I was in control and the food DID NOT CONTROL ME!! This really is just such an accomplishment for me as it would be for anyone. It was only really tough for me last night when all of the candy was around and the kit kats and m&m's were staring me in the face but somehow I just dug deep down and found that inner strength and resisted. I challenge everyone to do something like this that you have never done before. It is very rewarding.

Exercise front - This has not been my best exercise week actually but not too bad. I did two strenght workouts this week so far, one on Monday and one on Tuesday then I did not exercise yesterday and I am not going to be able to today. I must make myself do it on Friday, Saturday and Sunday now so that I can at least get in 5 days this week. I typically like to get in 4 days on Monday through Thursday then I will need just one or two more days the rest of the week in order to get in 5 or 6 depending on what I am shooting for that particular week. Seeing as I am doing a challenge with my on-line training team and trying to do at least 6 days a week of exercise it would be really good if I could get in at least 5 this week.

Halloween was fun. We went to a bonfire at J's school and then I took Chloe trick or treating down our street. She really enjoyed it.

Tonight is J's last football game. I can't believe the season is over already. These past 2 months have flown by. We are praying for a WIN!! It is against the across town rival and it would be a great way to end a decent season.
