As for me I am still well, thank the Lord. I am just praying that I do not get sick. I am taking echinacia, vitamin C, and I wash my hands constantly so that is really all in my power that I can do and the rest just isn't up to me.
My friend Jess and I have a big day planned tomorrow. In the morning she is going to make spaghetti sauce and some protein bars and then we are headed to town to pick up our race packets and look through the race expo. Then we will meet one of my friends for lunch. Then we will come back and get ready to go to one of the other persons house for a carb loaded spaghetti dinner. OH YUM!! I cannot wait for it. We are going all out with good full fat ranch for our salad and cheesecake and this grape salad that I am making for dessert. OH MY!! I am getting more excited about the food. HAHA.
Sunday morning we will have to get around early to make it to the race to find a place to park and find our starting lines. I am not exactly sure how this relay thing will work and how we will get to our destinations. I am sure someone will direct us though.
I will post on Monday with how it went. I am just so excited about the fact that the 4 of us are running a marathon together. WOW!! When you think about it that is just really GREAT!! We will always remember this and have a such a wonderful memory about the event that we did to better and extend our lives by getting healthy and in shape.

I did one of my short runs yesterday. I didn't have much energy for some reason. I had planned on doing 3 miles but I just squeaked out 2.5. That is o.k. though, I am not going to beat myself up about it. I think my body was just tired. I am doing 3-4 today then I will rest for a few days until my race on Sunday.
My food hasn't been great. I have eaten out several times between the weekend and then we had pizza out last night. It was good but I really shouldn't have had it. I have a good food plan today and I will stick to it. OH, AND NO CHOCOLATES FROM THE FRONT DESK!! I must STAY AWAY!! I WILL STAY AWAY!! Can you see me trying to talk myself into NOT having any chocolates. I WILL DO IT!!

I did my 10 mile run on Sunday actually. It went well. The fact that I started it and finished it was the best part. My legs were getting sore towards the end but I made it and pushed until the end. Thank the lord for IPODS!! Seriously, those help the time go by so much better. Man, I can't believe I ran 10 miles. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever even consider that much less WANT to do it.
This coming weekend I am going to Little Rock to do the marathon relay with some friends. I am really looking forward to it. I am resting my legs today then I will do 4 miles on Tuesday and 3 miles on Wednesday then just rest my legs until Sunday when the run is.

I won't be back here until Saturday or Sunday after my run. I am doing the 10 miles if you remember. I can't wait to get it over with. I know I am training for a half marathon but I actually kind of dread the long runs. Oh well, it comes with the territory. I know I will feel AWESOME when it is over. I will report in and let you know how it went and the most important thing THAT I DID IT!!

I had a really good food day I felt and I even indulged in a baked potato for dinner and it was so yummy. I don't typically eat starchy carbs at night but since I had just got done with my run I thought maybe my body could handle it. IT WAS OH SO GOOD!! I had some smoked chicken on top and used some BBQ sauce instead of butter and sour cream.
o.k, I have to go prepare my lunch and snacks for tomorrow.
I never did get in a long run this week but that is o.k. I had some things come up and then it rained over the weekend. I am still on track with my training so everything is fine.
My schedule for the week is as follows:
M - run 4.5 miles
T - run 3 miles ( I have to get my short runs in early in the week b/c we are expecting rain later in the week)
W - Strength training - believe it or not I am going to try to get up at 6:00 and get this done.
R - day off
F - ab/core work
S - 10 mile run. OH WOW I can't believe I am going to do 10 miles but I AM. The weather is looking just fine so nothing is getting in my way.
Sun. - DAY OF REST!!
My next run is in 2 weeks and that will be the marathon relay in Little Rock.

5K tomorrow, they say rain or shine but this girl won't do no rain. I am not that dedicated. I hate not to do it b/c I really want to but I will not run in the rain unless someone is chacing me. Let's just hope it is not raining from 9 - 9:30 in the morning and all will be good. I am planning on doing another 6 miles after I do the 5K so that I can get in my 9 miles. It totally depends on the weather. I am just going to get done what I can. Sunday is not looking good either as far as weather goes so this week might be a bust. I might go this afternoon too and get a run in. It is cold but at least there is no rain in the forecast for today. I can deal with the cold.
Valentine's day was so nice. My hubby sent me some flower and then when I got home he had dinner made, rotisserie chicken, sweet potato and green beans. Then after we got the girls to bed he lit some candles, broke out a bottle of wine and then the chocolate covered strawberries that he had made. He actually bought the strawberries, melted the chocolate and then even melted white chocolate and spelt I love you on the strawberries. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!! It was so nice and thoughtful. It brought tears to me eyes. He loves me so much and he loves to show it.

I am doing 9 miles tonight. Yes, you heard me right, I am running NINE miles tonight. I can't believe it. I have to get it in tonight since I am doing a 5K run on Saturday which is typically my long run day. I will be glad to get it over with. It is going to be decently warm today but the bad thing is that the wind is SO strong. I mean crazy strong so that always makes it tougher. I will get it done no matter how slow I go at times though.
By the way, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!! My sweet hubby sent me some flowers to work even though I threatened him not too. He didn't listen. I am not going to worry about it and just enjoy them. 1/2 dozen red roses and 1/2 dozen white carnations. They are beautiful and smell SO GOOD!
o.k guys I have to get busy at work, I can't stay and chat. Duty calls.

Food is going pretty well. I am holding steady at 153 which is fine with me. Since I am just maintaining my weight I have been having a few more things than normally do when I am in weight loss mode which has been nice but I also have to be very careful not too eat too much and I have been doing pretty well (except for a few moments) of only eating things that are worth it. I am not eating just to be eating which is GREAT and I am proud that I have learned that but I have eaten a chocolate chip cookie there or 3 hershey kisses there but overall my eating has been good and is totally still on track. I still drink my protein shakes and eat my apple and carrots and tuna and I drink my water.
I got a great compliment today and it wasn't even on purpose really. I was eating my lunch in my break room at work as I do most days of the week and 2 other girls were in there with me. A guy walked in and said "it smells healthy in here" and one of the girls said "that is because Dawn is eating her lunch". It made me feel so good. I had my cucumber with laughing cow cheese, my small can of tuna and a green salad with a little bit of ranch and drinking my water. It made me feel so good and proud of my menu and that people notice that I eat healthy. Can people say that about you???? That gives you something to think about.

As for the weekend I have no plans tonight just relax and do laundry probably, fun fun. Then Saturday I am doing my long run of 7.8 miles and then we have a surprise party for a friend to go to so that will be fun. Sunday, just clean my house and hang out and rest.
Food should be fine. I don't forsee any challenges coming up. I am going to get a few groceries this afternoon to get my stocked for the weekend so I have no excuses. I need to make some food like protein bars and maybe muscle bread and I hope to cut up some sweet potato fries and mabye make these omelet things that you boil and then I have omelets ready for the week and I don't have to eat oatmeal every day.

My mind and my body need it!!! I am looking forward to it. I am pretty sure I am going to find that it is tough. I know my core needs it to help strengthen my back for my running.
Shout out to my sister: She left me a message saying that she was going to a super bowl party but that she arranged to have them make grilled hot wings and also a fruit tray. YEAH!!! So this way she could snack healthy. GREAT JOB VELVET!!! She thought she might indulge in a little bit of spinach dip but that is o.k. No shame in that as long as you enjoy it and own it.
I am thinking biggest loser is not going to be on tonight b/c of the election. BUMMER!! I am not certain but I am trying not to get my hopes up about it.

Today I am doing 3 as long as my legs hold up. Plus, my lower back is a little tender so I might end up walking some. I will just see how it goes.

Well we did get about 2 inches of snow and it was pretty coming down. It is melting off today though b/c it is sunny and the temp is in the high 30's.
No big weekend plans except for the Super Bowl get together and doing my long run.
