I'm Back!

I am back from the beach and it was beautiful and fun and the weather was perfect. It could not have been any better. The girls had a great time and the time with all of the family was fun. Now it is back to the grind and to the everyday life of going to work and making money so I can buy milk for my girls as my Dad always says. I will post some pictures of the vacation as soon as I have some more time. I am off work today putting up clothes and other things where they belong. Plus resting some before it is back to work tomorrow.

BEACH BOUND!!!!!!!!!

We are leaving tomorrow for our beach vacation. I can't wait!!! I will be MIA for over a week. Even if we have internet I am not going to check my e-mail or blog. I am making myself disconnect from technology for a week. I will be hanging out at the beach with the fam, playing cards, visiting or reading a book. NO COMPUTER!! I will report in about my trip when I return. It is sure to be a good time. My parents, my sister, husbands parents, his two brothers and their girlfriends are all going. 11 adults and 2 kids. WHEW!! That is a condo full for sure but we all get along and everyone is so much fun so I just can't wait.

Please say prayers for us for a safe trip if you don't mind.

In preparation for our beach vacation Chloe and I got our hair cut a little shorter than usual so it would be more manageable. If any of you have a young daughter with lots of hair you can relate that she thinks I am killing her everytime I brush her hair. One little bitty tangle to a 3 year old IS the end of the world. She never lets me put it in a ponytail either so off it came. Not too short of course but just shorter and easier to deal with. I love my new sleeky stylish look too. It makes me feel SO GOOD!

FYI: Chloe's lip is scabbed over b/c she burned it on a hot pan. Don't ask. HAHA

I have not been a faithful exerciser recently but I finally got in an upper body strength workout last night. It felt great. It was about 9:15 and the girls were in bed and I made myself do it. I was so glad I did.

I have a lot going on in preparation for us leaving for our beach vacation at the end of the week. I cannot wait!! It is going to be so much fun and so relaxing. Just nice to get away from the laundry, vacuuming, phone and computer for a while. I just want to disconnect. I love the technology that we are given but at the same time it just ropes you in and controls you sometime and I am ready to leave it behind for a while.

Food today:
B - 1 egg, 1 egg white, 3/4 oz. of cheese 2 slices of canadian bacon omelet
S - 15 almonds, protein shake
L - flatout wrap, deli turkey, 1 slice swiss cheese, 15 carrots, laughing cow wedge
S - snickers marathon protein bar, apple, protein shake
D - tuna, 1.5 tbsp of miracle whip, flatout wrap, salad w/ avocado and sun dried tomato dressing

New (temporary) addition to our family

We would like to welcome MOLLY!!! Yes, she is our new pig or should I say my daughters new show pig. My husband grew up showing pigs at the local county fair and state fair and we thought Chloe might enjoy it so here we go. Chloe is 3 1/2 so we will see how it goes. The fair is in late August and she has seen her cousins show their pigs and she says she will do it. She seems to be getting used to Molly rather quickly but it might be a different story when she is out in the arena with a lot of other kids and each of their pigs. We are just hoping for the best. The great news is that Molly is such a nice, gentle and docile pig. I mean super duper gentle as far as pigs go. She never gets excited or runs or even attempts to knock Chloe over (so far anyway). Which getting knocked over by a pig is about the worst thing that can happen but for a little girl that weighs about 32 pounds and a pig that weighs 100 already (and still growing) getting knocked over would not be fun. I am not worried about that with Molly though. I love pigs! My major in college was Animal Science mostly inspired by my love of horses but when I was in college I was able to work a part time job with pigs and I really enjoyed it. Believe it or not they have such personality and they are just neat and fun animals. I might be enjoying Molly as much as Chloe is. I never showed animals when I was younger but I wish I would have. If they only had pig showing for adults. Oh well.

I had a GREAT food day yesterday. First, I had some friends that wanted me to go to lunch and when I go to this place I get a mini thin cheese pizza and a salad from the salad bar. I typically eat that on weeks that I spread my spulrge meal out and consider that part of it. I had brought my lunch yesterday though (a SBD pizza in fact) so I decided I better just eat it and I DID! Yesterday was my Mom's birthday and one of her favorite places to eat is a pasta place so we went there and I DID NOT EAT!! I figured I could eat tuna when I got home and that is what I did. I just sat and visited. Then when we got home I made my tuna and my daughters wanted some cake that my Mom's cousin had brought her so I get it out of the fridge, italian creme cake, and I cut them each a small slice and I DID NOT EAT ANY!! I was slightly tempted at that point b/c it smelled and looked so good and it has nuts in it and I love nuts but I passed it up. I just kept thinking "eating this will not get me to my goals" and I walked away from it. It felt so good and another reminder that FOOD DOES NOT RULE ME!

today's food:
B - egg, egg white and some cheese omelet
S - 15 almonds, protein shake
L - chicken fajita salad and no chips
S - 100 cal pack kettle popcorn, protein shake
D - grilled chicken, steamed broc and cauliflower

I'm back but I am not productive!

Man I am sleepy. This conference took the energy right out of me. I will get it back though. I just need a couple good nights of rest. Of course my DD#2 never gets up and last night she did. I had to go get her and get her back to sleep. That was unusual.

I am very pleased with my food over the conference. I took my own snacks so I was not tempted to eat the candy bars and snack crackers. I did eat 3 famous amos choc. chip cookies and boy those tasted good. I love those things. I did really well at the meals and I did indulge in a splurge meal on Monday night with fried shrimp, crab cake and french fries with turtle cheesecake for dessert. WOW! I hadn't had that stuff in a while. It was good and worth it. Now I am back on my plan until I leave for my vacation next Friday. I will get in 3 exercise days this week. Since it is already Wednesday though and I haven't done any I better get to it. My plan is Thursday and Friday morning and then Saturday during the day while the girls are asleep then I will not do anything on Sunday.

ok, I must get caught up on all of my work that was here while I was gone.

Oh yea, I am sporting a new pair of size 8 jeans that I haven't been able to get into. WOOT WOOT!!!

I have been so solid with my food it is just crazy. Since I have been doing so good so many days in a row though it inspires me to continue and to keep it up. I was going to have a spulrge of fried shrimp and cheesecake on Monday night but I think I am going to change it up a bit and get the grilled chicken and baked potato and still eat the turtle cheesecake. Oh man you guys, I am going to savor every last bite of that cheesecake! I will have fried shrimp several times in a few weeks while we are at the beach. I want to continue on the straight and narrow until I leave for the beach in exactly 2 weeks. Just the small splurge of the cheesecake and then eating the baked potato which I don't eat very often will be good enough and that won't get me totally off my path.

I won't be reporting in for a few days b/c we have a conference here at work and it is most of the day on Sunday and then a full day on Monday then half a day on Tuesday so I will be MIA for a while.

Oh yea, still going strong!

4 days in a row of good eating. I did really well at the bunko event last night. They had chicken salad and I ate some on one small dinner roll then I got some just on my plate to eat. I did eat some of a cheese ball with 8 crackers and I had one serving of tortilla chips (14) w/ some salsa. I passed on the dessert and drank several cups of water through the night. I was very pleased with myself! Then I came home and my hubby had ice cream and a slushy fron sonic and I passed on both of those too. I have another great food day planned for today and then I am just going to finish out the week with good stuff on Thursday and Friday. I am saving my splurge meal for Monday night b/c we are having a conference at work and we are going to a seafood place in town and I LOVE ME SOME FRIED SHRIMP so I am going to partake in that and also in some turtle cheesecake.

Food today:
B - 1 egg and 1 egg substitute omelet w/ 3/4 oz. of cheese
S - 15 almonds and protein shake
L - SBD wrap, 15 carrots and laughing cow wedge
S - protein bar
D - 2 grilled chicken tenders on the george forman with some sautteed mushrooms and onions on top and sautteed squash on the stove.

Oh by the way, still no exercise, yes I am slacking, just being lazy on that end but I am keeping my food good and that is 80% of the battle so I would say I am still doing o.k. It is amazing how slim I feel and how slim I look in the mirror from just keeping this food so good. It makes the BIGGEST difference.

Checking in

I had a GREAT food day yesterday. That makes 3 days in a row. I am making a competition out of this with myself. To see how many days I can go in a row with eating on plan. I have a challenge tonight with bunko with some friends. I am not sure what is on the menu. My plan is to drink a protein shake right before I go so that I won't be real hungry and that way I can pick and choose between what they have and only eat very small portions. I will be fine with that since that is what I am planning to do.

Great weekend!

Well we had a blast Saturday night with my BIL's 21st birthday celebration. I hope to post pictures tomorrow for your enjoyment.

My food was really good this weekend and I made some really good choices like grilled chicken salad w/ honey/lime vinagarette dressing instead of chicken strips and ranch. I did eat 2 small ribs and 1 small onion ring as a treat. Then I opted for a turkey sandwich instead of fried chicken on Sunday. I think all of those little decisions like that add up in the long run and help you shed the fat.

As for exercise, well I am slacking in that area but I plan to pick it up really soon...maybe even tomorrow morning.

I have a busy week at work today b/c we are making the last minute preparations for a conference our office is putting on that will be this coming weekend starting on Sunday.

Today's food:
B - 1 egg and 1 egg substitute omelet w/ 3/4 oz. cheese
S - 15 almonds
