As I posted earlier in the week I am getting ready for my longest run to date of 20 miles. I have been thinking about it all week. Not worrying or stressing just thinking about it and reminding myself to constantly drink water, which I have and to eat the right foods and the right amounts of food. I feel like I have done well. I think I am ready. Ready as I will ever be at least.
Julie and Jess will be up here Friday night and we will go eat my favorite pre-run meal, a baked potato with pulled pork on it and bbq sauce as the topping (no butter or sour cream), baked beans and cole slaw for the sides. It just seems to be the perfect amount of protein, carbs and sodium for my long runs so I intend to stick with it. I hope Julie and Jess love it as much as I do. Then we will head home and get our things ready b/c we will head out early Saturday morning so we can get this thing over with. Well not too crazy early like 6 or anything like that. Although, we should really do that b/c we will be actually running the marathon starting at 6 am. I have run at 6 several times and have never had an issue with it so I think I will be fine.
Only 30 more days until the marathon. Wow, the 30 day countdown can begin. I feel like I am a kid counting down to Christmas.
