TWENTY - Yes I said 2-0 MILES!

ok this is the biggest week of my marathon training life so far coming up. I will be running 20 miles and possibly even 21-22. We kind of want to push ourselves past the 20 mile point just to show ourselves that we can do it. We did 18 miles two weeks ago and that went REALLY WELL. I have no reason to think that this 20 plus miler won't. It just sounds VERY daunting when you think about it.

We will be starting out with a 10K (6.2 miles) race that is around the University campus on Saturday morning then we will just continue and do additional mileage until we get to our goal. Most likely we will just run for time since we know what our pace is and we will run for a total of 4 hours and 45 minutes. OMG!!! I can hardly say that or read that without getting naseous. This is just one of those things that you have to DO and NOT think about b/c if you think about it too much you will talk yourself out of it.

So start the prayers now and keep them coming through Saturday around 2. We will for sure be done by then and hopefully showered and eating a splurge meal of our choice.

You are so dedicated. I wish I could get myself to eat well and workout both. I try to eat good food, but I fall short most days:) (brownies, cookies, and candy) I am very impressed that you run as must as you do I hate to run long distances. I will keep you in my thoughts this weekend.

That is so cool that you are hitting the big 2-0! You're right - just doing it, and don't think about it too much. I am only up to 5 miles now, and am already looking forward to that post race meal after my half marathon in May ;)

Yes I'm planning on walking the marathon. I really hope to maybe run bits and pieces of it little distances at a time but I plan to participate anyways even if I'm walking 90% of the time.
